Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, UEFA and FIFA suspend Russia from Football World Cup by issuing a joint statement stating that all Russian clubs will be barred from participating in competitions until further notice.
These judgments regarding UEFA and FIFA suspend Russia from World Cup made today by the FIFA Council’s Bureau and the Executive Committee of UEFA’s Board of Directors, both of which are the top decision-making bodies in their respective organizations.
Football is completely unified in this country and stands in complete sympathy with all those impacted in Ukraine. They want for a dramatic and rapid improvement in the situation in Ukraine, just so football could once again serve as a tool for bringing people together and fostering peace and unity in the nation.
Let’s see if Russia wants to get back in the game by calling off war from Ukraine. As all the odds are against Ukraine. Russia on the other hand may win the war but will gain victory in one term at the cost of diplomatic loss from all over the world.
